Thank Goodness for Security

It happened again. My daughter has a debit card through her bank. She had it compromised six times last year and once so far this year. Someone keeps hacking into her account and using it for a transaction. The transaction doesn't go through and her card is stopped. She only had this last one for 4 days when it was compromised. I think the hackers try a transaction to see if it works. Thank goodness it doesn't and the bank is on it each time. This time they will contact the vendor (since this is the second or third time they have tried the same location)and maybe this will stop. It sure gets old.

Oh wow that is crazy it has happened to her so many times. I’ve only had it happen once or twice in many years. I don’t get paper bank statements anymore though and always forget to log in and check my account. If it has happened so many times at the same place then it definitely could be someone working there with one of those swipe machines that steal info.

It is crazy. I did notice that they repeated where they tried to purchase from this time and the bank rep said she would alert them so maybe that will help.

Does she do banking on the laptop or phone? That is an awful lot of times. Something is odd. I hope she finds out who is doing it. Maybe someone she knows and not realize?

My bank calls me, and yes it is very comforting. I know you and daughter are proud of it.

@BarBaraPrz .........It sure gets old. You'd think the bank would do more. They keep saying that she needs to sign the paperwork that will send and she never gets any. I hope they nip in the bud by contacting the store as they said they would. I'd sure like to know who is doing this too.

I'm sorry her card was hacked so often. I hope the bank can put a stop to it.

If I was your daughter, I'd go to a different bank. Maybe this would get that hacker off her trail! That's why I don't do online banking, it opens a person up for these disgusting criminal acts!

She has to be through this bank because I am her payee and I am with this bank. I think they have good security. Online banking is nice but, yes, it does open you up to hackers.

@kobesbuddy ........He is smart. We just have to do it this way due to me being her payee.

@celticeagle Jay refuses to do online banking, for this reason alone.
