Happiness index is better yardstick of development than wealth of nations.

The biggest success of a country can be the level of rise of happiness index of the citizens. For example there are many countries where private companies have serious domination. The employees are made to work at odd hours. Although the compensation is good the happiness index is low. The correct indicator is happiness index where citizens can say they can easily get jobs after completing studies, children can be admitted in schools of their choices easily, there is proper health care, to mention a few.

Yes, happiness is what we all pursue. Obviously, we spend more time on work every day, but the income we get is not as good as inflation

The happiness index should be given more weight. Happy employees would be much more productive for starters.
