If you read an earlier post on Bucket Lists, you would see all things on my bucket list and what has been checked off.
This past week we were in St. Lucia. The ride from (and to) the airport is 2 hours long. On the day we were supposed to return home I found myself with a medical condition where I realized there was no way I could sit on the bus for 2 hours. Sooo... with a half hour before the bus to arrive I ran to the reception desk and asked if I could take a helicopter. Everyone was very accommodating and a flight and taxi to the smaller airport at our end of town was booked. But not without the desk clerk making several phone calls. She was very helpful.
Unfortunately it was mega expensive ($190 U.S.) and I found out later there was only one seat left. So, my husband did not go with me. He took the bus and our luggage for me to meet him at the airport. (Thank God that worked out okay).
So the helicopter pilot gave us a bit of tour as he flew us to the main airport. It was beautiful. So many mountains.
It wasn't until I got off the helicopter that I realized that a helicopter ride is on my bucket list. This was not planned and I normally wouldn't pay that price but I was desperate. If you know the roads in St. Lucia (tight turns up and down and around mountains, no stop signs or stop lights, all polite people waving someone to go ahead) you would understand how uncomfortable the ride is.
So this is not a story about my vacation to St. Lucia with my husband this past week (January 7th to 14th 2023), just the helicopter ride because, hey, I accidentally accomplished another item on my bucket list. It was breathtaking.
So funny the way that worked out.
More on my vacation later.

Yes, you know what... I had time before the taxi picked me up to take me to the helicopter so I ran to the pharmacy (nice to have downtown right around the corner from the resort), and the pharmacist literally gave me a prescription antibiotic. I had already taken a gravol for the bus so I didn't take one right away but did at the airport. And for the first time in my life I got something that didn't upset my stomach! I literally have two different prescriptions in my cupboard that I stopped taking after two doses because of the side effects and the quick cure.

It was short but the pilot did do some turns so that he could show us the volcano and the mud bath. It probably took about 15 minutes. Everyone has asked me how long certain things took and I just wasn't paying attention to the time.
