Update on our friend who had a stroke

I updated last week when he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. At that point we we're left with a lot of questions and there was a lot of unknown.
I really wish that I could tell you that he's doing better and is home.
But that is not the case, at least not yet.
I can't remember if I shared that he suffered from several seizures. But he did. He tore or ruptured or damaged the artery in his neck and that is was caused the initial stroke. We aren't sure how the artery was damaged.
He has since had a couple good days and some fairly bad days. His right side is still very week. Wednesday he was up and was able to mimic the doctor, and when asked where his mom was he could point and grunt.
However yesterday there was a set back, he has spiked a very high fever and they had to put him in an ice bath to bring the fever down. He was not responsive or mimicking his doctors yesterday. Which is not the news we wanted.
They performed a spinal tap because of the fever/virus and they will have the results tomorrow.
So the news I got earlier was not the news we wanted. I was hoping that he would continue to imrpove so they could move him to the rehab facility and they could start rehabbing him. But this set back has pushed that back further.
We are praying, and holding on to hope. Hopefully the results of the spinal tap will give the doctors answers and a direction to start in to get him healing and getting better.

@thislittlepennyearns That is for sure all you can do is be there for her and keep them both on your prayers.

@Tina30219 I hope that when she talks to the doctors tonight there are some improvments.

@thislittlepennyearns Praying for him!
Yes. They do Payoneer now. They don't do PP anymore, but sometimes I wish they did lol. Payoneer is direct deposit, and they don't take any fees out, but I liked PP better, and I wish we had the choice between the two.

@tammys85 I am about to get back into Textbroker. Hopefully I can remember how to do everything lol So payoneer will link straight to my bank account? That's actually a little easier. lol at least for me.
And thank you! I just got a message from his mom that said that when the nurse went in to check on him , he moved his head and watched her wal around the room. So as little as that is, it is something.

I hope so too. I am afraid that the spinal tap is going to come back and say he has meningitis on top of everything else he is going through. I went through all of that, and that was no fun when that was the only thin I was dealing with. I can't imagine trying to recover from a stroke and having menigitits too.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure it's a really anxious time for you all.

Yes. I just spoke to his mother, and he is kind of responsive tonight. Not as much as we would like, but he's hanging in there. We will know more tomorow.

The positive side to this is that he's improving. Or at the very least alive, and the doctors are able to get a direction.
