In major airports like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Calcutta, the best part of the air journey is the presence of trolleys. A traveller is allowed to carry more than 1 trolley also. I had 6 suitcases and 4 bags. I took 2 trolleys. As I travelled with my mother wife and 2 sons we were 5 members. Each passenger was allowed 15 kg each. So I did not have to pay extra and send the suitcases in the cargo luggage and 4 bags in the cabin luggage.

@Sojourn
It's because the outlets try to "recover" their rentals and also make some good profits from the consumers.
The outside Tea or Coffee might be fancy but in the end, one always likes a good strong (Kadak) tea at home!

Are the Domestic airlines allowing 25 Kg of check in baggage?
I remember it was 32 Kg for an International Emirates flight.
You seemed to have carried a lot of luggage.
Was it for a long time stay?

The trolleys save a great deal of effort, that's for sure.
