Thanks to the efforts of the San Diego County Department of Animal Services in California on Tuesday when a concerned citizen called the authorities answered the call that a mixed breed female dog named Mia who is 11 years of age had been trapped inside of a 10 foot deep mechanic's well for a period of more than a day. The animal services officers used catch poles to get Mia out of the mechanic's well that had two feet of oil in the bottom of the well. Mia had a hard time trying to get out of the well due to being stuck in oil which made her very tired by the time that she was rescued. When Mia went to an animal hospital in Bonita California, she was checked by the veterinarians to locate her owner via microchip. The owner told the veterinarians that Mia went missing on Saturday when Mia by pushing down a door handle in her home. Mia is making a recovery from pneumonia since when she inhaled oil while stuck in the two feet of oil. Link to the story is https://upi.com/5881674162373

It's good the dog is properly identified due to microchip which the dog wears.

Microchips are very useful to locate a missing pet.

@Nakitakona Thank you for sharing the information since my relatives do not like the idea of microchipping our cats.

@Deepizzaguy We don't have it here. Pet owners usually put a collar to the neck of their pet.

Dogs are smart animals. It's sad she got out of her home and went missing into a well. I'm glad she's safe and will recover from pneumonia.

She would have been such a mess to try to clean up. I hope she has learnt her lesson now.

Oh! Poor Mia! She is much too old to be sick from oil and out and about. I'm so glad she was rescued.

I know what you mean since any dog who got stuck in oil for more than one day I would feel bad for myself.
