World repeats too much lessons on riches

The thought of getting rich strikes me within. Is it wrong dreaming of riches? When people on earth are reliant on clothes in inches. When storm daily occupies someone living. A new car every year! A new house in every continental sphere! Why? Just to look big and to enjoy being big! Why? Why the world teaches me the value of riches when I dare not learn it? How many such lessons did the world taught you which you otherwise wouldn’t want to learn? Any exchange of thoughts please.

I grew up in the GDR (German Democratic Republic) in the years after the Second Wold War. Nobody had anything then and led a modest life. I can say about myself that I've stayed modest and striving to become rich has never been a characteristic of mine. In which country do you live? Is there a special reason why you don't mention it?

I am from India. I think many thoughts society imposes on us. People who value self less are more inclined to run after money alone. Very nice to know about you dear.

Unfortunately, many people live like this, it's sad because they can't see what is really important and beautiful. Personally, I don't surround myself with many things, I have some clothes for several years and if they are still useful to wear, I use them. For me, people, emotions and experiences are the most important.

First, we have to define what is the meaning of rich. Second, why do we want to be rich. Third, is the richness bringing joy to other. You are already rich if you are healthy
