Jammed with friends this afternoon. How was your Monday?

I played music with my Burl Jam friends this afternoon. We had a good time but did not record anything. We like playing gigs on sun-lit balconies in the warmer months, but don't care for competing with televised sporting events inside during the Winter months. Does that make sense? We played a long jam to Wooden Ships near the end of our session, to honor David Crosby (of CSNY), who passed away last week. I'll link that mellow tune at the end of this post. Do you get out to see live music now and again? Are you old enough to remember CSNY?

I do remember the late David Crosby from the songs he performed with his former band members from the Woodstock concert soundtrack that on long play records. I have not been to a live concert since Sir Paul McCartney did a show in New Orleans when he promoted his Off The Ground compact disc in 1993.

CSN was one heck of a band.

@TheHorse They really were one of the best artists of their generation as well as Creedence Clearwater Revival.

@Deepizzaguy I think Creedence was from here in the Bay Area.

I haven't been to a live concert in many years. I am plenty old enough to remember CSNY. Some days I feel old enough to remember Lincoln. Wishing you a good day. Thanks for the link.

Heh. Some days I think I'm old enough to have ghost-written parts of the Declaration of Independence.

@LindaOHio I didn't either. At least I'm a better guitar player than I was then.

@TheHorse It sucks getting old, doesn't it? When I was 20 I never anticipated feeling like this!

Don't the sun-lit balconies get hot for discomfort during the summers? What do you do if it is mild winter but with a good sunshine? Anyways, good to know that you had a good time. CSNY is something totally new fir me. Have a nice Tuesday and Wednesday.

They were a wonderful band during the hippy era.

Since Covid we have not been out to see live music anywhere. I am sure you had fun playing with your friends.

It was fun. We did some gigs this past Summer. But mostly we just jam and have fun.

I think "Wooden Ships" is my favorite CSN song. A friend of mine and his band covered it on their 2nd album back in the 90s. I understand what you mean about playing indoors in the winter vs outside in the summer. Competing with the TV has to be frustrating and probably feels like no one is paying attention.

We learned to coincide the endings of our songs with good plays by the favorite team. Did I already say that?

I have attended those live events almost every Sunday at our Sunday open markets. The band there is very good.

Glad you enjoyed your music session, I have had all kinds of ideas lately for online writing that yesterday I was so busy Monday flew by and I could hardly believe today was Tuesday, When in the mood I occasionally put on one of their albums on YouTube and listen to it while I work on my desktop PC,

We'd go to more live music shows if they weren't so expensive. Most concerts here charge the earth.
