I Need a Free Resume Site

United States

I am trying to help a young woman create a resume. I used to have access to a free resume-creating website when I worked at a high school as the head of the Career Center. That was 10 years ago and is not available to me anymore. When this young woman asked me to help her create a resume, I figured I could find a resume site that would let her create one for free. I found a few that I was going to refer her to but first tried them out. They would let me create a resume but wouldn't let me print anything unless I paid money for it. She doesn't have the means to pay to print a resume. Does anyone have the name of a resume-creating site that is free and can be used in the US?

This might be of help. I have used Indeed's builder in the past with my clients, as they can upload right away to jobs posted there, but there seems to be some good options with the other sites.

@Kouponkaren you are quite welcome. I just got rid of a bookcase full of resume books and other career coaching things. I took them down to the veteran center at the college. Nowadays all that stuff is online anymore, but they got some great use. I really do miss some of the coaching time I have spent over the years. Maybe I shall do it as a side hustle again.

I can't help but it seems you have some suggestions now. Templates for such things are really useful.

@JudyEv I think the ones that offer her the help I think she needs with suggestions, etc are all ones she will have to pay for. I was looking for ones that would help her with that. I may have to do that part myself...for free!

If she knows what she needs to put into a resume, a lot of word processing app like pages for Mac word, etc offer templets etc to write resumes and cover pages. She could try that.
