Short story: A spiritual master's lecture on love

The Spiritual master, Basho Dunivit, was preparing his notes for his next lecture on love. His main theme for this lecture was for us not to pursue love. His idea was that we should more allow love to pursue us. Then, he thought to himself that he should elaborate a bit on what he really meant by that idea. He came up with this explanation. When you go out with your mind looking for anything, love included, you actually drive these things further away, because the mind thinks it knows what it is looking for, but it never does, so when you simply rest in your heart of love, love exudes from you then, and it penetrates your whole body, and so in effect, love has now found you. When we have such love working for us, we can then understand our position in relation to God, and his world too. We are being continually renewed by the waters from the spring of God’s love. God’s love is the greatest power there is. Nothing should ever be placed in front of love. We must love, in love’s way, for there is no other way to really love. Love is the way to God, and to truth. When we truly love, we merge ourselves with God, who is love too. Never hold back on love, and give it to others, just as much as you can do so.
