I was doing my usual hunt for something to watch in the wee small hours of the morning and came across a documentary about Stan Lee. He was so great. He lived from December 28, 1922, until November 12, 2018. He created such characters as Spiderman, The Hulk, The Fantastic Four, Captain America, Thor, and the X-men just to name a few. He grew up during the depression and used to spend his time at the movies. One of his odd jobs as a young kid was working for Timely Comics. That started his whole career. His dream had never been to be comic books writer. He had wanted to be an actor and his first hero was Errol Flynn. We all know he became a major icon. There are stories of people learning to read by reading Spiderman comic books. During WW II he was termed a playwright and wrote training manuals. He was a very animated man. A story told by a fellow worker is that once he was doing a rendition of what he felt a certain scene should go and was strangling himself. It was so intense that a co-worker hearing it down the hall came running down to his office to assist him thinking someone really was strangling him. He called his crew at Marvel Comics The Merry Marvel Marching Society. When interviewed about Stan Lee Nicolas Cage said that he reminded him of the inventive mind of Walt Disney.
