Snail vs fish

Fish and snail

At the restaurant we had lunch on Sunday, there was a fish tank with plenty of gorgeous fishes and snails lurking at the bottom. One of the fishes kept going to the bottom and having some close contact with the snail. I wonder what the two were doing - were they preparing for a fight or was it a playful interaction? It did keep me entertained while the food was getting ready. What do you think they were up to?

Hopefully these were not the fish or snail or meat they were serving at the restaurant.

@pitstop I hope so. But usually the seafood restaurant usually will use them not just for display but also for serving.

The fish might have been trying to taste the snail

Perhaps they were friends. It's interesting to imagine what might be going on with two very different species seem to be interacting.
