Thanks to technology we see ready reckoners everywhere that result in keeping our brain idle. And now AI is contributing more towards giving rest to our brain. But we have choices We need not use those ready reckoners and we need not take what AI provides The recent news about students getting everything on a platter through sites such as https://www.engati.com/chatbots-for-education? will soon see the world with brain diseases There are ways we can keep our brain active - doing puzzles, working on mathematical problems, working on Wordle, Sudoku ..the list is endless. A friend said she reads a lot She is reading someone else's thoughts We have to use our brain and write. What's your view on this? Image credit:https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Human_Brain.jpg

Being on sites like this one and surveys is one way to keep using your brain.

Both my husband and I do all those activities. I have an excellent memory, he is little by little becoming forgetful... as his Mom was. For the moment there is not a reliable cure.

I'm not sure it is as simple as that, there are several other factors at play such as a healthy diet (important for so many things!) and enough sleep. But yes my brain is always busy. Learning new things is good!

You are right. There are several other factors such as brain tumour, paralysis and trauma when these are not present an active brain will not get affected.

I do word games and sudoku. I am also learning another language. My brain is thinking from one language to the other every day. I hope I will keep my brain ok in my old age.

Interesting picture. I suppose the brain is like any other part of the body, if you don`t use it, you will lose it. I have often thought that technology was making us all lazy. People text instead of writing and I wonder if writing is another skill that will be lost eventually.

That is what I have been saying We have to keep every part of our body active and that is why there are gyms and physio therapy. Brain is a part of our body that needs to be kept active . One day we will lose the skill of hand writing.
