New place, how to make friend?

I just moved out of town for uni!
There's a lot of things to do. I mostly do it alone since I have no friend here yet. Actually, some of friends are here but they are living in different blocks and kinda far from my rent house.
It's not the first time I live in a rent house and away from home but still, I need plenty of time adapting myself. Getting new friend is not easy for me (and I know for most of poeple is not easy too).
Do you some tips to make friend?

hello, nice to see you fellow Indonesian.
I join mylot in mid of Jan last month. welcome to mylot. In here many people/ friends we can talk with. So, just enjoy to be here and make some discussion and comment to their post. It will make chemistry with them to be good friend. cheers

Thank you for the tips. Make online friends in social media is not as difficult as in real life as long as we talk nicely and respect others.
What i actually meant was to make friend in real life which is more challenging.

@hanasahla I think it same...maybe can join the communities with same hobbies or meet offline with online friends to become real life friends...lets make friendship with me...

@hanasahla A hobby can help you find friends. Are you interested in sports? Go to a gym, join a choir, learn a new language in a language school, etc.

Hi, welcome to mylot! I'm new here myself and so far everyone has been supportive. When making friends, just be polite and nice, I think. That's all we really need, someone who exudes warmth in their words and actions. Don't also forget to just be yourself. :)
