He Had Surgery

Last Monday my husband had surgery on his hernia. A tiny incision on his belly button. He was to take the bandages off after 2 days. There was still a strip of tape over the stitches. He wasn't going to show it to me because for him it almost made him faint. You could barely see anything. I guess I didn't show him the huge stitching and bruising I got when I had a lump removed. Anyway, he was stagnant for a couple of days and then he just couldn't sit still. And he is usually never home at dinner time so I don't usually cook, and still didn't plan on it. My goodness, my husband made some meals last week! We had a dinner every night I think. I'm not used to that. Anyway, he is back to work today on light duties. He is not feeling any pain. He survived.

My ex had to have a biopsy once. The incision for it was so, so tiny. It had one stitch, yes, I said ONE. He whined for days over that. Even our sons told him he was being ridiculous. My daughter said, this is why men don't have babies, Mom!

Yes... he asked me last night if I would take the last strip of tape off his incision today. He said he can't do it, he'll faint.

@MarieCoyle I asked him if he wanted me to take the bandage off last night. He said "maybe tomorrow".

@patgalca I do understand that some people do not deal with pain well. But some men are ridiculous...big, heart, strong...and can't rip the band-aid off, LOL.

Poor thing, how did you manage the smell from him being stagnant and all...

I had to look up the definition of stagnant thinking I may have used it in the wrong way. It also means inactive. In all honesty, I couldn't actually think of the word I wanted to use.

@BarBaraPrz No, inactive. He can't sit still. He always has to be going otherwise he falls asleep.

Glad your husband is recovering well from his surgery! I don't know what it is but women do seem to handle these things better - yah, many of us have bigger "battle scars". Good he is feeling well enough to get back to work now.

I'm the bigger baby... attention seeker. I expect to be looked after when I'm sick or recovering from a procedure.

He's fine. He even went out for a day (I think it was Thursday). I told him he was supposed to be recovering from surgery and on short term disability. There are eyes everywhere and he shouldn't be out and about.

Yup, even at almost 60 years of age, all the toxins he has put in his body over the decades has had no affect on him health-wise.

I am glad your husband is doing okay and he is back on his feet. It’s not a very good mood when you have to stay in bed for very long time

He did not stay in bed when he had covid. He had to be in his recliner in front of the tv. Me? I stayed in bed for the first 2 days. There's a tv in the bedroom and an adjustable bed. No need to spread germs around the house to the rest of the family.
