I would like to get some opinions about Zink, I bought zink tablets that are 50mgs and now I am reading that is to much to take daily.I was wondering if breaking them in half would be ok, do any of you think it would be ok or should I just throw them out?also when your only supposed to take such a small dosage why do they sell such large dosages

Even cutting that size zinc tablet in half is still way too much for your system. The dosage recommended for women is 8 mg a day. If you can cut the tablets into quarters and take one quarter tablet every other day, that's closer to the amount your body needs in a day. You should be getting that amount from the foods you eat. If you can't break them into quarters, you should throw those away and try to find a smaller tablet. The reason zinc tablets are sold in that larger size is because they are used to fight colds and a larger dose may be needed. You really should talk with your doctor about whether you actually need to take zinc tablets at all.
