One of My Favorite Political Critics Speaks

I just finished listening to one of my favorite political critics, James Carville. He is an American author and political consultant who has worked with presidents and candidates for public office here in the U.S. and in 23 nations abroad. He is what they call a 'pundit' which is an expert in the field who gives media opinion and commentary on certain subjects. Yes, he is a Democrat.
He spoke earlier about the State of the Union address last night. How "white trash" Marjorie Taylor Green heckled the president and called him a liar on several occasions, one being when he addressed fentanyl. Carville described her as "deranged and trashy ". I think he was spot on. (She is ill-mannered and trashy dressing in what was described in the media as wearing a "Cruella Devil" fur. MTG even yelled that the fentanyl problem was Biden's fault. How since it has been as issue in the U.S. for years?)
Biden did get the Republicans to run right into the trap he set for them and agreed on not 'sunsetting' Social Security. (I wonder what will come of that. ) The Republicans have had a history of wanting to do away with SS and Medicare for years. When Biden brought up this fact Republicans hissed and MTG yelled "Liar!" How disrespectful! I have listened to many State of the Union addresses and this is the first time I have heard such behavior. Biden got them so riled up that they actually commented to not touching SS.
Carville described McCarthy as white jello, gutless and spineless. He sure hit that on the head. McCarthy set during the entire address and looked like he was going to fall asleep.
Arkansas governor, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, gave the Republican rebuttal and diagnosed America as being "under attack". She says the country was not so much left or right but crazy and normal. I felt her rebuttal was both negative and extreme while Biden finished with the country needing to go forward with optimism and be forward-looking. "We need to see ourselves not as enemies but as fellow Americans." (Yes! Oh, yes!) Carville's takeaway was that people like her "need to go about change with a spackle, not a meat cleaver". That she did not know what she was doing.
As usual, I felt James Carville was spot on and said it like it is. This is the #1 reason I like to listen to him.
I thought one great quote given by the commentator was from Harry Truman who said: "If my opponents will stop lying about me I might just stop telling the truth about them."

The State of the Union address is not the venue to be disrespectful to the President.

No, it certainly isn't. But, leave to MTG to go against that tradition.

Carville is a great one, I think. Green is as dumb as a stump. She even complained this week about her $174,000 Senate salary. Sanders is just another right wing Trump lover.

I totally agree. My big question is: How do we get rid of these people?

@celticeagle Legally? Oh yes, of course. The people that elected them are fools.

I didn't either as a rule, but, when Trump came upon the scene I changed that. I like to keep track of that putz.
