Passion is defined as a strong and barely controllable emotion. A state of clear, strong emotion. It is said that you can't live off passion. But, what about finding a career you are passionate about? That would be like heaven on Earth, wouldn't it? Some of the greatest feelings you may ever have is passionate love. It transcends devotion and becomes this heady, unsurmountable consuming of one's self and their love interest. Lust, ardor, desire. Such lines as: "My skin craves your touch. The racing of heart and the calmness around," Or: "In her eyes, even the oceans make their wishes. In her eyes, lies the desire for love. In her eyes, I see two luminous stars." Both are from unknown authors but the sentiment is clear. Such famous poems as My River by Emily Dickinson and the Sonnets by William Shakespeare all speak of it. In Dickinson's The River, she speaks of her river "runs to thee" and the river runs toward the sea bearing gifts and she is waiting to see if the sea will welcome her and is waiting for its reply. Someone who isn't in love or doesn't feel this may think it is corny or silly but, for a person in love the feeling described above is very real and so very clear. It may calm with time and only surface at certain times but this passion isn't something that dies out over time. If love is nurtured and fed it stays ever-burning and warm.
