Mylotter friends, since I didn't get a chance to post my Week 2 update this weekend, I'm going to do it now while I'm still in catch-up mode, all this week. My second week wasn't too bad like the first. I did pick up speed when it comes to ditching socks and other dirty underwear, working my way to my two bin goal. There was a new girl, a ware processor, who is named Jessica, and is very nice as well. Everyone seems to be nice and helpful at Goodwill, especially when it comes to fellow newbies like Jessica and myself.
I pretty much averaged a little over a bin last week. Last Tuesday, I made it a little over one bin at 1.15. Last Wednesday, I got a little over one bin once again at 1.25. My manager wanted me and another textile processor to stash the rest of the pre-sorted donations into a gaylord box to go through at another time, since we ran out of time. Last Friday, only one bin, since I had to do some virtual e-learning at Good Academy, which took up the rest of the afternoon.
In the span of last week, I saw a lot of fabric scraps, diapers, baby clothing, bedding and linens in my bins. My goal this week is to reach 2 bins. I have Wednesday and Friday off, but I work this weekend. And my first paycheck will be mailed out this Friday. So I should get it in the mail a week from today. Woohoo! I'll be back after dinner to check in with posts and notifications. And I hope to do my recipe report card and February recipe list in a day or two if time allows.

Ew, dirty underwear??? Do people actually donate dirty underwear? Yuck. I am sorry you have to deal with that. Do you get to shop at the Goodwill you work at? Around here the Goodwill staff is not allowed to shop at their own stores.

Not dirty underwear, but used underwear that's probably been cleaned first. We toss out underwear or socks or bras into the salvage box. Yep. And then there's the stinky ones when it smells dusty, moldy like moth balls, or gross like a pet had peed on it. The worst smelling ones go in the trash. ohh! We do have a discount ,and wait a half-hour to buy from the store if we see something on the sales floor. I haven't brought clothes yet, but one of my colleagues who works sales did buy some clothes last week.

It sounds like things are going well there. You just have to make sure not to slack off.
