When was the last time you felt happy?....like, truly happy?

I think it's been so long for me. Way too long. The funny this, 80% of this heaviness could be solved by having a bit more money. It's annoying to think about, that we're forced to seek something so material to heal our spirits. But I think that's the way of the world, unfortunately. Money makes you worry-less. If you had more money, you'd have more opportunities to do what you love. If you had more money, you can spend more time with your family. If you had more money, you can live healthier (both mentally and physically). If you had more money, you can be happier. Period. It's inextricably tied to our existence and until we learn to stop putting value on things, it always will be.

I think the problem people have is the "things" part. Because the first part of your post touched on the real value of money. It's not about the money or the things you can necessarily afford. It's about freedom. Beyond that, people tend to think of money in all the wrong terms. That is why we have rich and we have poor. Rich people see the future value of money and poor people only see the current value of it. In other words, rich people save and invest and spend the proceeds and poor people save little and invest nothing and spend the principal. When one wants more money, the best thing to do is to look over at the rich and start to learn about them and how they got what they have. If one has the skills to navigate a welfare system, they can navigate the inner working of something like a stock market. But therein lies the other part of the equation. Poor people tend to focus on their "calamity," rather than focus on the solution. The real one. The one that will actually make a difference. And so, because of that, they mostly are forever wanting and never having.

I get what you're saying. There's learned helplessness on the part of the poor, and they carry it with them everyday.

@083196ryza Yes. Exactly. If one wants to go through life being a victim, they will always be a victim.

For me, I am aware that since I take care of my mental health, my emotion is stable even throughout the pms and my period week. I guess I am happy even through my period week now.

Indeed almost everything is about money. Well I’m truly satisfied with all that I have but I do wish I could have a bit extra money and help my husband out. He works so hard yet the money isn’t enough. Well the last time I was truly happy was when I surprised my hubby on his birthday with the gifts that he wished for but never asked. Seeing his happiness made me very happy. It took months to save up for this but it was so worth it.
