When I look at the faces they show on the news of the young people who have died in mass shootings I am overwhelmed with emotion. Children are being killed. These handsome, healthy, innocent young people have been taken much too early and for NO reason. No gangs, jealous boyfriends, or mistaken identities have taken them. Just some psychologically impaired person who probably should have been getting professional care and wasn't. Just someone who was suicidal yet felt a need to kill some innocent young people before they took their own lives.
104 people have been killed since 2003 and 162 injured in 52 schools for NO reason. Every public venue has been abused by this. Terrorists are taking a back seat to these killing cowards.
Only 45 days into the year and there have already been 67 mass shootings in this country. Out-of-control gun violence is rampant.
The NRA and money. States need to set up red flag laws. That might help. This last killer already had a gun violation on his record yet he was able to get access to a gun. It's too easy to buy guns on the black market or online.
I think we need to change how kids are brought up. Christmas cards with each member of the family holding a gun, even small children is not the way. This isn't cute, it's WRONG!
Loneliness and grievance. These are two areas we need to change in this country. Too many teens feel alone. Add this to a possible grievance and it is a murder looking for a place to happen. These teens grow older and if they haven't caused some kind of havoc so far they may in the future. These feelings need to be nipped in the bud. Communication, love, and family values need to come back into the homes of both young and old.

I'm glad to hear your views as they equal mine. I think we need to pay closer attention to our youth and the mental challenges that they face. My mother once told me, "You're too young to be depressed". That's not the kind of mentality we need in this country.

@celticeagle Exactly! At first I was embarrassed; but I was told I have an imbalance in my brain chemistry; so I need meds to keep me on an even keel!

I can't even start telling you how true each word is. We need to focus on this or else the coming generation will create havoc. Unfortunately, even today society does not cater to mental health needs. These poor sufferers have just been brushed aside for having weaker minds. But like any muscle in your body, the mind can be trained to be happy and fulfilled. I firmly feel going to be parents need to be tutored in raising a child and even before we reach this stage, the choice should lie with women as to weather she wats a kid or not .

And, there are too many people in the world. Things and people are overlooked. It is so important that we make sure our little corners of the world are filled with positivity and love. Bad attitudes, meanness and hatred should be erased from the mentality of each and every person. This starts at home.
