I have just finished reading this book and I must say that I really enjoyed it. The story is about a young couple Ben and Clara who meet while they are at university in 2000. They get on fine most of the time but they do have their differences. Ben is a keen football fan who likes to go and watch his local team when they play at home and then go for a drink with his mates after the match. Clara is a bit possessive and she makes it clear that she does not like him doing this. But they are rubbing along quite nicely despite this until something bad happens.
This story is told in two parts , in the early 2000`s and then it skips to 2022 when Clara is married to a man named Thom. The marriage is not a happy one because Clara keeps thinking about Ben and what might have been.
Then they hear on the news that there has been an explosion at the football ground that Ben goes to. Clara is worried that Ben has been hurt or killed and she goes looking for him.

Sounds like a good book.
I'm currently reading a book called Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson. It's about a group of people who go and conolise Mars in the year 2027 - which isn't far away!

Are you enjoying Red Mars, in what year was it written? 2027 will soon be here because time goes fast these days. But I don`t think we will be having trips to Mars by then, but you never know.

@lazydaizee Yes, I'm enjoying reading Red Mars. It was first published in hardback in 1992. I have a 1996 paperback copy. Yes, 2027 will soon be here, after all it is only 4 years away! We could be having trips to Mars by then (not a long stay, I just mean similar to the moon landing in 1969), but colonies it? I don't think so. I don't really know if that could ever happen.

@sharonelton I am not sure that the conditions on the planet Mars will be right for human beings. It would be expensive to get there too.

I cannot say what happens at the end because this will spoil it for anybody who wants to read it for themselves.
