Professor Charlotte Girardet is focused on one thing - securing tenure to a large, prestigious university. Her career is firmly on track, but her life is complicated by her attraction to rough and rugged security guard Justice Cooper. It isn't only Charlotte's heart in danger, however. Tensions blaze on campus after several students are viciously attacked. Struggling to balance her ambitions and her growing passion, Charlotte takes a leap of faith, and trusts Justice with her deepest secret. As they attempt to redefine their relationship, Charlotte is kidnapped by the assailant that has plagued the univeristy. Trapped and tormented, Charlotte must use all her ingenuity and strength to escape her attacker. Will she have the chance to decide between her long-held dreams or a new life with Justice? ~~~~ I won this book back in July from the author. I didn't read it then because I had just finished a book entitled "When Time Stands Still". With such similar titles I thought the stories might be the same so I put it off. I am so sorry I put this one off for so long. It was in no way the same as the other story. I would even venture to say it was better. I loved it. This story takes place in Canada. Charlotte is trying to get into York University in Toronto, but in the meantime she has to take a short term job at a smaller university. When she begins her relationship with Justice they are both aware that it is just a fling, that she will be leaving at the end of the school year... if she gets the tenure she needs which includes writing a book. The story is mostly romance and family oriented. The kidnapping doesn't come in until the last few chapters of the book. I wasn't expecting it (I don't always read the synopses of books, especially if I am entering a giveaway). So then came the suspense - the romantic suspense that I love in a book. This book was an easy read. It does contain some steam, just not too descriptive. It was written by a Canadian author and takes place in Canada, so another win for me. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it if this is your kind of read.

Sounds an interesting book. I've been reading a bit more recently which is a good thing.

I've been cramming because my personal year end is February 18th, and I have a book that is this month's book club read so I want to get through it before the book club live stream next Thursday.
