British, Australian & New Zealand Police shows are my favorites

We have watched so many series made in those countries that I can't even think of all the names, but Shetlands, Vera, Brokenwood Mysteries, Chelsea Detective, The Gulf and Endeavour all come to mind. They all seem more real than the shows produced in the US. The acting even seems better to us and the ways that gun crimes are handled as well. So, I was wondering if people on myLot are fans of those kinds of shows and if anyone has suggestions for other titles?

I usually watch a show before I go to bed, I haven't seen any of the shows you mention. I used to like the old English shows but I don't find them now.

We get those shows through a pretty reasonable subscription to a network they are on.

Sometimes we have to use sub-titles so we can read what they say. What American shows are you favorites?

I guess it all has to do with what you are used to. I am a fan of some out-of-the-ordinary shows. You, Poker Face, and Better Than Us come to mine. The latter was made in Russia. All were well-acted and entertaining so far.

When I lived in Latvia they televised many shows from other countries I really enjoyed with sub-titles like Komisar Rex from Germany about a German shepherd working with the police and a spy drama Nikita which I think was French and a fantastic police drama Alarm Fur Kobra 11 about highway patrol I think also German, I missed those shows when I returned ti the states,

We enjoy a variety of movies made all over especially if they are dubbed in English. No subtitles! Fauda was a favorite.

@JamesHxstatic Once in a while they are okay, but I like to watch the characters, and the subtitles detract from them.

I don't watch much TV, but my favorite crime show was Colombo, with Peter Falk, as the good guy detective. There wasn't as much violence as there is in many American crime shows, and I liked the way Falk's character solved the crimes using reason. I like reading Sherlock Holmes stories too. Where was Doyle from?
