Spirit Week at my School

This week, we are celebrating Spirit Week at my school in preparation for the Eastern Independent Conference Tournament next weekend. The EIC is the private school athletic conference we play basketball in. My school is hosting the tournament this year. It rotates between the five schools in the conference. I will be helping out at some of the games keeping order and picking up trash. Fun stuff, eh? During Spirit Week, the kids are allowed to dress according to the theme of the day each day. Tomorrow will be North Carolina Team Sports Shirt Day. The students can wear a shirt with their favorite team on it or with that team's colors. I will be wearing my red NC State shirt. Each day has a different theme. I'll tell you more about that in future posts. Did your school do anything special to get students excited before a major athletic competition? PS: The sculptures of wolves in the photo are on the NC State Campus. State's mascot is the Wolfpack.

Our school is having spirit week this week as well I believe. I have clue what the themed days are. I saw a post about it on Facebook but usually ask my son each day of spirit week for a conversation.

Our students enjoy the chance to wear something other than their uniform shirts. Tomorrow will be wacky shoes and socks day.

@DWDavis oh that definitely would make things much more fun for them then. We don’t have uniforms where my kids go to school. It is a public or private school you teach at?

Those wolves are amazing. Well the jocks were into the sports so ...our school did plenty I guess. But me and friends were not into sports..the only one I had spirit for was archery.

I was big into football and basketball, watching, not playing, when I was in high school. I went to all the home games and the closer away games. These days, don't pay much attention to sports. The World Cup and the Olympics are about all I watch.

I love those sculptures. They are really great. I like my sculptures to look realistic and these do - at least to me.

Mascots are big with our school sports teams over here. I still remember how proud I was to be a Buccaneer when I was in high school.
