Just watched Angelina Jolie in this film. Disney's answer to what happened to Sleeping Beauty.
It is the sequel to the 2014 "Maleficent" that begins to tell the story of all the things the beloved fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty forgot, didn't have room for, or didn't want to get into.
Angelina Jolie plays the dark fae, the former ruler of the enchanted forest (The Moors)and its protector and guardian with Aurora(Sleeping Beauty), the present ruler of The Moors. Michelle Pfeiffer is the evil Queen of the human country bordering the forest.
All hell breaks out at a dinner party and Maleficent is injured. And the story goes on in splendid detail.
It is a great escape from what's going on in the world right now. Maleficent's fury and pain. She is asked to "broker peace with all humans." I wish our present-day strife was this easy to eradicate. But, alas, no magic or fantasy to help us.
I found this on Freeform. It's a great channel full of more contemporary movies. I have been trying to get away from the psychological thrillers and documentaries I've gotten used to watching.

@celticeagle wasn't the movie made before with a different actress. I'm thinking Bett Middler had a part in it, but not the main character. Seems like I saw that movie.

Even though I am not the greatest fan of Angelina Jolie, I enjoyed her role as the villainess in Maleficent.

@celticeagle I like the Maleficent character a lot despite her being evil.
