A Day in the Yard, at least for my Missus

K is taking advantage of the beautiful, sunny, cool morning we are having to do some work in the yard. I do what I can to help, but the arthritis limits how much assistance I can offer.
One thing I could do was spray the weed and feed on the front lawn. I tried to use up an old bottle of the stuff we had from last year first, but it just wouldn't feed. Half the front yard received a good watering before I gave up and attached the new bottle.
I always wait to spray the yard until after the dandelions and other early weed flowers have bloomed and gone by. These provide important good for the bees when they first become active. Now, the Bradford Pears, daffodils, and other flowers are blossoming. Also, the bees have a plethora of flowers of all types to visit in our woods.
Sophie, our Corgi, is helping K with raking the leaves out back. As K rakes, Sophie barks at the leaves as if she's herding them. It is a riot to watch.
Lots of people around here burn their leaves. We mulch ours in our old dog kennel. When we need nutrient rich dirt to plant flowers and seedlings in, we dig down to the bottom layer and find all we need. Why spend money on potting soil from the garden store when you can make your own?
Do you do a lot of gardening?

We have an incinerator to burn garden garbage but also have compost pits where we compost wet and part of dry garden garbage.

@allknowing It is a hollow column down the center of our tower garden that works by vermicomposting household garbage.

I hope she has a good day to get it done. We never spray the yard as many of those so called weeds can be eaten if you want or need to.
Herding type dogs are a lot of fun
