An elephant's brain is structurally like our own. They are both the largest land animal and, the most intelligent. The brain size of an Asian elephant is 5.5 kg(12.125 lb.) and 6.5 kg(14.333lb.) of an African savannah elephant. (The average size of a human brain is 1.5 kg(3.3 lb.)). One way that elephants show how intelligent they are is that they remember routes to watering holes for both long stretches of time and space. They can also form strong bongs and remember other elephants for decades. In 1999 two elephants, Jenny and Shirley, who had once been companions in a circus, were reunited at a sanctuary in Tennessee. They remembered one another and renewed their bond after twenty years apart.
