From 'His Master's Voice' and now to Youtube and pen drives

I have seen it all. The gramophone popularly known as His Masters Voice where one had to wind it repeatedly for it to perform. Then came the turn table for playing the LPs that were once played on the gramophone. We then saw the deck to play cassettes, CDs played on DVDs, laptops and desktops. Just download music on your pen drive from CDs and elsewhere on the Net and play it on your smart phones, laptops and desktops and now YouTube.
I have cassettes and CDs languishing. I just copy music from the Net which is free and load it in pen drives. Just open up YouTube and listen to loads and loads of music.
When did you step in? Did you experience "His Master's Voice'?

@allknowing - We gave one of our turntable to my niece, but we kept our best one and we still have all our vinyl records, both mine and those of my husband.

I had cassettes, and LP's and now I need to get rid of the CD\s and DVD's. Any takers? No! I thought not. I guess I will just have to throw them in the garbage, You can't even give away the old technology anymore.
