Hi my fellow myLotters, Today is 7:57am of March 13, 2023 here in the Philippines. Monday. My first rest day for the week. Sounds funny but the start of my work week will be on Wednesday and end of my work shift will be every Sunday. About two hours ago, I've sent my youngest son to school. And after that I need to go to the nearest bank's ATM to get a little amount for my transportation allowance on Wednesday and some amount for my weekly family needs. I don't know if I'll be happy to have this, I got a Php1000 new bill (see photo) from the ATM. I don't know if it'll be a blessing or disappointed. Why? Since, this is the first time that the Philippine government have this kind of money that we've exported the production from Australia. According to Philippine government, this is the best design and full security features. This is the first time that I've got also since it was released in circulation last year. Most Filipinos, specifically the low-class and middle-class including myself because, some stores, are not accepting this kind of money because, it should not have torn, bend or crumpled unlike the other paper money bill. I force myself to buy an index card just to make sure that my new Php1000 bill will not create any damage while on the way home. I don't know how to use this money to buy some stuffs and even by some foods because some stores don't want to accept this? Lol. Although, I still have some paperbills, Php100 and below denominations. Maybe, I'll just wait for the new salary to comes in. Lol.

If you don't know if it will be accepted, why did you get it? I would think 100 peso notes would be preferable. Can you take that to a bank and switch it for 100 php notes?

@DaddyEvil Actually, I've got that only to the ATM of 7-11 store. And the bank is about 1 kilometer away from us. Sam, was laughing the Php1000 that I've got it with an index card. He even said, "I needed index card then and not available at 7-11 store, now I don't need it anymore but it's available" then continue laughing.

I had a customer who bought 5kg of rice and gave me a 1000 peso bill like that and when I checked it had a crease in the middle like it was folded and no matter how you flatten it, the crease won’t go away. I had no choice but to ask for another bill

@sol_cee So, that's the issue, Filipinos who have this kind of money requires themselves to go back to the bank and replace for the old denomination just to make sure that they have the way to use it. Bank in our place has almost half a kilometer line even outside the bank there's a line. How many banks in our area? One bank only. But ATM, there's a lot, maybe about 10 ATMs. Lol.

Maybe you can replace it through the bank. I wish I don't encounter such kind of stress- yes for me it's stressful to keep that bill because of the reasons you have mentioned.

@luisga814 Yeah. Honestly, I really don't get, why our government allowed that bill to circulate.

@cttolledo I don't know if I have a time to go to the bank. For the meantime, I've said to my wife, I'll just use this money for the moment for my YouTube contents. And if I needed to use and/or have time to go to the bank, I'll do that.

@cttolledo It's okay with me to have this kind of money just to have long life of the money. However, of informing the public of depriving not to accept in the store if there's a bend and/or a little torn, that's not acceptable reason to me.

@kaylachan Yes. I agree with that. Unlike the money bill of USA. All notes are almost all the same of course different value, however, USA is the most powerful in the world. Unlike here the Philippines, we're in the 3rd world country but we're trying to spend a lot just to print this kind of money.
