I watched The Oscars last night and this one won several Oscars. I thought I had seen it on one of my apps and was able to find it on Paramount+ and, my daughter and I just finished watching it.
It was fast-paced, unexpected, humorous, and thought-provoking. It said so much about life, the common condition, generational crap, and relationships. All in a very different way.
I have seen online where Jamie Lee Curtis is getting some bad remarks for her getting the Oscar instead of Bassett. I just watched this movie and I don't see where Jamie deserved it. I haven't seen the one Bassett is in but have seen trailers for it and it looks epic. So I'm not sure what to think about the reasoning behind the choosing of that particular Oscar recipient.

I've seen the movie.

Perhaps but I don't see where Jamie Lee should have gotten the Oscar.

@celticeagle she did well in the movie.
Haven't watched the other movies though for me to have an opinion on this but I do like how Jamie Lee Curtis acted in the movie.

We couldn't get through the movie. We watched about 1/2 hour of it. I haven't seen the Bassett movie. I like Jamie Lee; but I don't know if I would have rated her performance as Oscar worthy.

I don't think so either. Odd she got it when the Bassett movie seems like a real drama.

I felt the same way. I kept watching and hoping it would make some sense. It sort of did but you couldn't look away a minute. And, I can see where Bassett should have gotten the Oscar. Jamie Lee didn't even have that much of a part.
