Though late we see baby jack fruits on the tree They aught to have shown up in November. It is unusually warm and I am hoping these fruits will reach maturity without any hassle. There are clusters of baby fruits all over the tree. I only hope when they reach maturity we will be able to sell them as so many we have no need for. Any fruits growing around you?

I hope it all works out and you are able to sell them. Nothing growing here yet but daffodil shoots were sprouting out of the ground before the snow covered them. Once the snow melts they will continue growing.

It is great that those buds will survive the winter.

@allknowing they are very hardy. I don’t usually like the blooms though but last year saw a few pretty ones.

@allknowing I can get them up the street here in the Natural Grocer but they are canned..I do not think those would elicit the full flavor.

You can use some unripe ones to make vegetable curry. Even their cutlets are too yummy! My daughters call them vegetarian mutton cutlets . You have good number there. Hope you get a good sale.

We normally make a dish with unripe jackfruit. Cutlets seems a good idea.

@arunima25 Where did you get the jack fruit from. I do not see them here yet. You jus chop the tender jack fruit into tiny pieces and cook it adding a sliced onion. When it is cooked add the masala powder (readily available), salt and some tamarind water with a bit of sugar to taste Temper it with mustard and garlic.

@allknowing What dish? I would like to try. Today I made chicken curry for my family and jackfruit for myself. I am at doctor's office for some regular checkup. It's late for lunch. I should go back in an hour and relish it

Not yet. Usually fruit season over here would be towards the end of the year.

It can only be seen mostly in the countryside. I love jackfruit's seeds. I like boiling and eat them as my snack.
