Right-wing journalist complains about "woke" but cannot define it

Conservative author Bethany Mandel was interviewed today and was asked to define "woke" after she used the adjective a few times. She. Could. Not. Do. It. Incredibly, in her stammering attempt at responding she actually admitted that she wrote a whole chapter about what "woke" is and yet she couldn't define it on the spot. In the middle of her cringe reply she straight up admitted the obvious and said "this is one of those moments that is going to go viral". And she was correct. That clip is all over Twitter and the wider internet this afternoon. "Woke" has become some MAGA conservative dog-whistle that is used as a pejorative adjective. Florida governor Ron DeSantis brags over and over that his state "is where woke goes to die". He rails against "woke" teachers and books. It is ludicrous. Ya know what "woke" means? It means that people and organizations are respecting that everyone is different and not everyone has to think/look/be/feel the same. It is wanting people to feel included and not excluded. It is recognizing both the good and bad that happened in the past and looking for ways to promote the good moving forward. "Woke" is supposed to be some negative thing when, in fact, it actually is about being positive.
