Overthinkers unite!

Canada
March 17, 2023 10:59am CST
Hey everyone. This is actually my first post since I am new here. I've been exploring the website and in my mind I was asking myself: 'Should I post? If yes, what's an interesting topic? Should I introduce myself? Should I do it today? Tomorrow? Never?' And then I laughed at myself when I realized I am overthinking this so I decided to just do it. It's a struggle to be an overthinker. It makes me anxious about the smallest things. But I think it has a lot to do with my introversion. The love for silence makes my head go to different places. I daydream A LOT. How are the overthinkers out there? Are you like me? What do you struggle the most? How do you overcome it?

Welcome to the site. As for the notifications, get to them as time allows. It can be overwhelming but most of us here understand if you can't reply as soon as we comment. Just enjoy the site. And yes, I am also an overthinker. A day at a time.

Thank you for your good advice, it is so overwhelming I will try not to stress out about it as I post new discussions. I have lots of things I want to write about on here, but know I need to go slowly in order to enjoy and make good new friends and reply to people.

@AnneW21 You are very welcome. It has worked for me here. You have about a week to return comments before the notifications disappear. Take your time. I used to write every day, sometimes twice a day. But lately I take a few days off and it helps.

@AnneW21 I shut most of the notifications off because I didn't need/want them to have a good time here.

I hope to spend lots of time here. Just need to understand the notifications properly so I don't go upsetting anyone as would hate to upset anyone on here.

I am a big overthinker. Welcome to mylot. I have just returned from a couple of years ago. I am over thinking how do I reply to everyone who pops into my notification box and keep up to date with everyone, would hate to upset anyone That is what I am going to struggle with most on here,

Thank you. You're response made me chuckle because of how much I can relate. If I get any notifications, I'll probably obsess over on how to respond to any of it. The how, the what, the who, will be considered significantly. Depending on the topic, I'd probably even do a little bit of googling about it.

I overthink things. I have one hour to get some tasks done around the house. I'm on the couch, deciding. Should I make muffins? vacuum? dust? organize something? start my taxes? go for a walk instead? I need to just pick something already And I'm also from Canada. Alberta
