Remember HQ Trivia?

Well if you live in the US anyway. I don't know if it was an international phenomenon but it definitely blew up in the US several years ago. It was an app-based live trivia game that happened at specific times during the day. The allure was that you could win real money if you won. I love trivia so of course I was sucked in. After a few months, though, I realized that people were winning like 20 cents if they "won" and they had to win/earn like $50 before they could ever hope to cash out. I lost interest after that and then apparently the game/app/site imploded. I actually have a documentary about it on the TV right now. It is called "Glitch" and it is about the rise and fall of HQ Trivia. It is interesting to see what was happening in the background and what ultimately brought the app down.

If people spend too much time and energy on games that are not attractive enough, people will give up when the novelty passes. The difficult cashing system cannot attract everyone

I never heard of this app. I watch a lot of shows about trivia on the Game Show Network.
