Necessary range hood

China

Two days ago, we installed a new range hood. This is our third range hood. Because the installation is in a new location, we need to drill a hole in the wall, which is a 16 cm diameter hole. ?Because our wall is made of brick and cement mortar, drilling is not easy for us. We pay for someone to drill the hole. Then use a smoke pipe to link the range hood through a hole in the wall and extend outside. The process of drilling holes caused cement ash to fly all over the house. It took me three hours to clean the dust in the room.Because we like to stir fry in our daily diet, a range hood is necessary for every family. Although it forced me to clean up, I was still very happy. Because it solves the problem of being caught by lampblack during cooking, and inhaling lampblack affects the health of our lungs.Pictures from the network.

It seems that your cooking doesn't include stir-frying.

@allknowing I use an induction cooker most of the time. Our lampblack comes from a large amount of thermal oxidative decomposition products produced in edible oils (soybean oil, peanut oil, sunflower seed oil, blended oil, etc.) and foods at high temperatures. During cooking, the oil is heated. When the temperature reaches 170 ?, the initial decomposition of blue smoke appears. As the temperature continues to rise, the decomposition speed increases. When the temperature reaches 250 ?, a large amount of oil smoke appears, accompanied by a pungent odor.

That is really needed, especially in enclosed spaces. We don't need it though because we have almost an open space with windows everywhere.

Open spaces can save electricity bills, as the range hood needs to be plugged in after all

@zhangxueying Oh very good then ..I wish we had one..instead I have a microwave above the stove here and the fan is switched on each time I cook. It is an exhaust but it does not leave the room so I have to open all the windows and put fans on..complete barbarism in this country how people have to live.

The range hood is a kitchen appliance that purifies the kitchen environment. It is installed above the kitchen stove, which can quickly remove the waste from the stove and the harmful oil smoke generated during cooking, and discharge it out of the room. At the same time, it can condense and collect the oil smoke, reduce pollution, purify the air, and have a safety guarantee function of preventing poison and explosion.

@RebeccasFarm We used to have a fan that we installed on the window and turned on when we cooked, but it was too cold here, and sometimes the fan froze.

@zhangxueying Well it makes no difference for what concerns cleaning the kitchen, but it is important for the exhaust of the fumes. Our range hoods have a pipe that goes to the outside.

Yes, it makes it easier for us to clean the kitchen, and it doesn't smell like oil.

@LadyDuck I think if I didn't have a range hood, my kitchen would be covered with more oil stains

You need a range to clear the air after you are done cooking.

Our home is an induction cooker, and we need to turn on the range hood before we prepare to cook. And then start frying

@zhangxueying So what's the next project?

Yes, two months ago, we decided to install a new range hood, but it's too cold so we've put it on hold until now. Now that the weather is warm, we can do this because we need to drill a large hole in the concrete wall with a hollow hole.

@sol_cee The next step should be to solve the problem with the kitchen wall. I haven't figured out what materials to use yet, so I can do it myself.

I'm sure you were glad to get that hood installed. We had to buy a new range and hood last year. Both work much better.

Yes, kitchen cleaning is also important. I will buy an oil stain remover and spray it on the corner, and then use a kitchen specific wet towel to wipe it.

@jefferson126 I have been washing cups with baking soda, which removes rust very cleanly. I will try using baking soda to clean up oil stains because it doesn't have a pungent smell. The spray I bought earlier to remove oil stains has a really strong taste.
