Top your Tater

During break for a change of pace Bob and I went to a fundraiser meal. It was a potato bar. You were given a baked potato of your choice, Bob took a huge one. Then they had various toppings you could put on them. Things like broccoli, cheese sauce, chili, hamburger gravy, chopped onions, sour cream. . . I forget what else. Of course their were all kinds of choices for dessert as well. I had a piece of chocolate sheet cake with walnuts on top. So, how would you top your tater? Would you go to a fundraiser like this? The purpose of this fundraiser was to put money aside for the library. The brick building needs to be repointed.

I LOVE potatoes of any kind. I would have to put lots of sour cream, cheese, bacon, broccoli and whatever else hit my fancy!

It is a slang way of referring to a potato. You know, it is okay if you ask, it shows you read the post and you want to learn.

My husband loves baked potatoes he would love an event like this. He tops his with cheese, butter, salt, pepper and sour cream. I usually just put butter and salt. The broccoli and cheese sauce on it is what I would get if I went to the potato bar you went to. I should make that for my son and I we are the only ones who like broccoli.

Ooh, that sounds good! I’d definitely attend a fundraiser like that! I frequently have baked potatoes for dinner (well, nuked in the microwave), and I’m the kind to put chili or BBQ chicken on it.

Here we do nuke them. I think they baked these in a roaster, all individually buttered and wrapped. Classy, and tasty. Yes, a nuked potato is my fast food.

@GardenGerty — exactly. If I want the luxury I’ll go get a real baked potato at a restaurant (like I had today ).

I would enjoy that meal. Hamburger gravy would go on and other things depending on what they had
