Someone to talk to

Pamela has friends
But she listens to 'Jamaica Farewell' by herself
Swaying to the country music
All by herself
She feels down sometimes
But gives a treat to herself
Binge-watches movies on Netflix and pirated sites
She has low-self esteem
Googles up the cure
Google advises her
to focus on herself
Do SWOT analysis
Directs her to links of copious courses
On Udemy,edX, Coursera
The instructor teaches her to interact and make eye-contact
But Pam doesn't know how to stir up conversations in real time
Alas! Pam is so shy to look someone in the eye
She has friends
Oh Did I forget to mention
She has 10K friends on Facebook.
Pam has friends or Does she?
Do you think we are all like Pamela here?
Is the world slowly turning into a Pamela's world?

Yes. But many are engrossed to make just online friends and have forgotten to talk to someone in the real world face-to-face.

You know it's so weird...when I and my friends sit in a circular table in our college canteen, we end up staring at each other and then slowly each one of us takes our smartphones out and we start scrolling through youtube shorts. It feels weird...

@Dreamerby but again it is not easy to make a friend because of lack of trust

I am like Pamela, except few differences like I don't do courses (not for this, at least) and I closed my Facebook account a decade ago.

Sad but true! I find many people especially youngsters being like Pamela. Human interaction in real world is so important. Most youngsters these days are more into gadgets and virtual world than the real world.

@Dreamerby That's a sad story and it's prevalent everywhere.. Last year my husband visited his college as a guest lecturer. He was too upset to see the new kind of life on campus. For us, those were the best years with so many memories together with our real friends.
