We had chickens and we named them Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Theta and Omega. They all had different personalities. Omega never mixed with the others - he was a loner Beta ate a particular type of grass. We had to look for it and give it to her Alpha was the smartest and the most active Theta grew into a beautiful and handsome rooster and last but not the least Gamma lived for 12 years while others died in their young age. They were all pets and caring for them put a spring in my step, Sharing this memory wiith you

@allknowing That's why you have a scientific attitude and could notice their differences. One needs to have a good observation skill in Science

Good idea to use the Greek alphabet to name your chickens.

@LadyDuck I have seen that in dogs and cats but never in chickens until I kept them as pets.

Wow that’s amazing the one lived for 12 years. Do you think you will ever have chickens again? The names you gave the ones you have are cute!

But I no longer would want to keep chickens as pets as their old age is difficult for them and for us

12 years is a good age for a Chicken to get to. Would have been quite tough when you cooked it though

I can see that you truly cared for your chicken and even have names for them. May I ask if you didn't breed them for food? Just wondering because chickens usually go to the cooking pan once adult enough to cook. No offense meant.

It's interesting to know that chicken has personality. It's very kind of you to keep chickens as pets. So, do you buy chicken meat in the market and eat them?

It is four years since I do not eat meat and fish However there is a huge difference between eating what is already ready for eating than killing your own pets.
