Beauty destroyed

The picture shows a beautiful cluster of trees. This is in Olalua forest in Kajiado but history says the place was so dark covered with canopies with no sunlight. Due to human activities, the forest is slowly dying with much sun penetrating and rivers drying up. The coming generations will have nothing to enjoy if we don't control our tempting, destructive behaviors.

I get so upset when people do these things. Trees are important. You said the sun is drying up the rivers. That should tell them something. Now it is on them.

@Laurakemunto It doesn't make sense to me. They solved nothing. So what did they do with the trees that they cut down.

Rivers are drying up everyday, when there's wind, you can't even walk outside but trees are cut mercilessly

This can be done through campaigns in schools where the students can be encouraged this used to happen when I was in primary school the then president would award the school which had planted the most trees it was fun and prestigious too to be honored by the president. He had the rule of cut one plant two but now it's cut two or more and plant none!!

@rakski I usually imagine the future generations will only see trees in pictures since they will be long gone

Very sad and unfortunately, these scenes are all over the world. Sad for the wildlife as well.

Yes humans must learn and come back to reality with everyone being responsible it's not the role of environmentalists alone.

We need to save our trees to have the oxygen that they give us.
