Just airing my sentiments

I like K-dramas and I watched them often, and I noticed that many women villains in the dramas are pushy and go to extreme lengths to get the men that they fell in love with - even if the men blatantly declared they don't love them in return. I don't know but I find this trait so offending (but I still watch the dramas ). If they truly love the person they declare to love, they should consider his happiness first and give up their "obsession", so their beloved could be with the person he loves. I just couldn't understand this quite common theme of obsessing over someone. I call it an obsession because true love is not like that. I am sorry for ranting. I just wanted to express my feelings and want to know your opinions too on this topic. Thank you.

That is true, its like not normal anymore! It's like an obsession of some fans to their idols- spending money, time, and effort just to see them in person in a concert and I know some who traveled to another country just to watch their concert.

Obsession is not normal. As for fangirling, I have nothing against, it as I am a BTS fan myself (I'm an ARMY) but I would not attend a concert abroad or buy things that I cannot afford. Many ARMYs are already professionals, Many are rich, CEOs even of big companies, doctors, lawyers, and people who earn their keep. Hence, I have nothing against them for spending their own hard-earned money to attend concerts or for buying merchandise. However, when one comes from a poor family who could barely survive, then the family should come first before any fangirling events. If I had the means, I would also travel to see them in person.

If someone does not love you in return why would you still want them.

That's exactly my question. They deserve more than a person who puts them in the back burner.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with kdrama tv—only because I dislike reading subtitles while watching. But maybe one of these days I'll download at least one show and watch it when the internet is down or something. What can you recommend? I'm into action/crime, espionage, thriller, and mystery mostly but I love a good love story too.

Oh thank you. I'll save these. I've heard of Descendants of the Sun before, I'm not sure where.

@MGjhaud Please watch it. You'd be missing something good, if you don't.

That's great. You can start with "Tunnel: or "Signal" and then afterward, you can proceed to "Descendants of the Sun." I will recommend more if you like these three. Have fun.

Pleas no sorries..it is fine, rant away, so many of us do here. I love the K Dramas but had not watched them for a very long time. Yes they can be extreme in their behaviors.

Unrequited love is a sad and hopeless love.

I don't love the K drama it's filled with fantasies which can't be found in the real world but it's a good entertainment piece though

@Laurakemunto I see, so the K-dramas can reach as far as Kenya. Do you have a k-pop group favorite singer?

Alot of women (and some men) put themselves in that position unfortunately. You can't make someone love you however.

That's my take as well. Love could never be forced.

Since it is a drama possible it is only the thinking of the one who wrote the play Just saying.

Yes, I think some writers think alike because there are many K-dramas with that theme.

That is not "love" but desire to possess something, it does not matter if the something is a human being.

Yes, she treats the person as an object that she can own and have by hook or by crook.

Even if one is successful in pushing himself into a relationship like that, it is not likely to last.

I don't watch K-dramas. I don't see that theme in the romance films I watch. I agree with you though.

Yes, I've never encountered similar plots in American films. Anyway, these are just K-drama series and may not be true in real life.

Exactly right .. true love should accept the reality too when they doesn't love there is no meaning in wanting them.

I agree, it's not love any longer if one insists on his unrequited love.
