I’m getting back into cooking a bit more than I was doing. Many things are just simple one item meals (like a sandwich or a burger). But, this past week, I made a pot roast with potatoes and carrots and, a favorite of ours, the green beans and meat I described previously. It was really good!!! I used a recipe I found online for cooking in a Ninja Foodi. You can see the roast here; one is the first plate I started eating and the second is after I made the gravy. I’m very happy with the success of using the Foodi. It took just under an hour to be cooked to perfection. I’ve never made a pot roast that actually had a crust on it! It was so good.

That looks just like the pot roast I made last week! Delicious! My daughter, Pretty, and I normally make pot roast in the crockpot. I cut up the veggies for it and she spices it and then turns it on... The whole house smells great all day.

I've always done mine in the crock pot. Mom always did hers on top of the stove in a dutch oven. So this was a definite change for me. I even forgot to add the onion soup mix I was planning to use. I'm so happy with how this turned out.

@DaddyEvil I went to get the oinion I bought just for cooking this roast, but I couldn't find it anywhere. No idea where it went, so it was just Bada seasoning, salt and pepper, plus the flavors from the potatoes and carrots. Also, a little bit of Better Than Bouillon to flavor and darken the gravy.

@jerzgirl Sometimes I bake meat in the oven with onions and carrots, too. That always turns out nice. I have used onion soup mix with different meats in the crock pot and in the oven. It does taste good.

I didn't think this posted. I got an error when I tried to post. But it was so good!! Can't wait to do it again. I have a chuck roast in the freezer. Just figured out what happened. The image was too big, so it only posted the text.

So am I. The last time I followed directions for cooking something in the Ninja, it was raw when it was done. Ended up having to stick it in the oven. But, this one came out exactly how they said it would. I'm a happy camper.

@Laurakemunto Yes it is. Good food is always satisfying, but when you make something yourself that hits that food pleasure center, it's a real treat.
