In the summer the pink hibiscus grow smaller in size.

April 3, 2023 8:44pm CST
It is hot in Calcutta now. Temperature has gone upto 35 degree celsius. The major potted plants in my balcony are watered twice a day. Although the colour of the flowers and leaves are remaining constant, I am finding the pink hibiscus growing smaller in size.

Is that genetically small or some scientists breed it to a smaller size?

thanks Adie I sometimes put some fertilizer. Other than that it is plain watering twice a day. I think may be due to extra heat it is reducing in size.

I used to have hibiscus planted in the ground. The were in partial shade. I didn’t notice them getting smaller.

@sathviksouvik I think they need partial shade. Good luck.

thanks Ruby I think the heat in your city is less. I will try keeping them in shade and I find out whether it still retains its size.

With such high temperatures, the plants would appreciate being watered twice a day.
