Buffet spreads

I recall the buffets that we got to enjoy in hotels we stayed during our various foreign trips/tours. Choosing was a problem. There were so many varieties in every category - tea, coffee, bread, butter, cheese, different ways in which eggs were prepared, every kind of fruit, jelly, jam, fruit juices, ....the works. The spread was on countless tables and it was not possible to get to the end . I being a small eater I had no problem in choosing what I wanted to eat and my only hope at that time was if only I could eat more We were not allowed to take food with us What do you prefer A la carte or buffet? This is a beautiful buffet. I prefer "à la carte", I am a small eater and when I eat at a restaurant I enjoy to sit and being served.

@allknowing - Even in nice hotels in our days the morning breakfast is always and only a buffet.

I love buffets (we have not gone to any in a long time because of the pandemic). I loved sampling a little of this and that - and going back for more. But a la carte is fine too.

@allknowing I don't mind. I count it as exercise in between eating so much .

The problem with buffets is that one has to get up often

I used to be loving buffets but that was years ago. And even then, when I could eat a lot more than I can now, I still did not eat as much as I could.

Buffets are meant for those who have a good appetite. The only thing I liked were the desserts.

That is the problem with us small eaters and the food gets mixed up in the plate unless you get up each time you want to try a different dish

When we have a variety we find it difficult to choose.

And picking many items can clutter the plate.

If you are a small eater you will not enjoy a buffet. And tasting everything your legs will hurt unless you have wheels on your shoes (lol)
