Before the storms hit I’ll give you another song that’s turning 60 this year. This is the Chuck Berry portion of the countdown. He wrote yesterday’s tune, and here he is again with another composition! You may not remember this song, but its significance is legendary. This is the song that introduced some band from England to the world. Come On - The Rolling Stones And, yeah, it flopped. But we all had to start somewhere, and this is where Mick and the boys started. And just think, in 15 more years Keith Richards will find this post and go, “Wow, that’s a young song.” The Stones can do a really good cover (as they proved with “Just My Imagination”). This isn’t earth-shattering in terms of the best cover they ever did, but it is important because, sixty years later, we’re still talking about this band. Come On Written by Chuck Berry Recorded by The Rolling Stones Released as a single, 1963 Everything is wrong:

Yeah, I figured if you didn’t know a BIG Chuck Berry hit you wouldn’t know this one.

Never heard that one. The Stones look so young - oh why must we age.

Some people have aged well. Mick and Keith are not two of those people.
