Do you like tofu a lot? Tofu or tokwa here is popular. This is our ulam or viand yesterday. It doesn't look appetizing but it's not bad actually. I fry all those tofu and my brother sautéed it in garlic and onion. It has a dressing or sauce made of mayonnaise and oyster sauce. My toothache after it because my tooth doesn't want something hard food to chew.

@averygirl72 Sorry I rushed you. I have made a sauce with tofu. I like to put tofu in with rice and onion and canned pineapple, sometimes broccoli. Oyster sauce gives a nice amount of salt to a dish.

@sallypup I haven’t tried a dish with tofu and pineapple in it. Maybe a sweet and sour sauce will work with tofu too?

@averygirl72 Sweet and sour sauce is great with tofu. Ginger and pineapple and green onion with rice and tofu is tasty.

fried tempeh
@averygirl72 What is in this picture is fried tempeh and the basic ingredients are soybeans, similar to tofu. In this case tofu is more durable than tempeh, tofu is more widely known. One thing you must know not everyone here like tofu but mostly we like tempeh.

One of my favorite dishes is tokwa't baboy. I love it whenever my DIL cooks it because her palate matches mine with regards to the condiments. Not so salty.

I wouldn't say I like it a lot but I eat tofu. So many dishes you can put tofu and that's what we usually do because just plain tofu is sometimes unappetizing to us. But there's one recipe that's just plain tofu and some carrots, celery and seasoning that we like, its tofu patty. You mash the tofu, mix all the ingredients in a bowl together with egg and some flour, make a patty out of it then fry, pair with catsup or some mayo and its flavorful in itself.
