K and I are watching an episode of Nature on PBS. This episode is about rabbits and hares. There are many more differences between the two than I ever imagined. Sophie is watching the show with great interest. She growls and barks at the rabbits on the screen. I've never seen her so intent on a television show. Do you have a dog or cat that likes to watch TV?

I thought rabbits and hares were the same animal. What is the difference?

There are a few. Hares are larger and have longer legs. Also, baby rabbits are born hairless with their eyes closed and are fully dependent on the momma rabbit. Baby hares are born with fur, open eyes, and can begin hopping around within an hour of birth.

@DWDavis That’s quiet a bit of difference. I think I might see hares more than rabbits or I might see both and think the smaller ones a baby.

I did. My cat Precious had his favorite YouTubers and personalities.

What types of videos did Precious prefer watching?

@DWDavis It wasn't so much types, but people. I used to watch Poker Now, a tech Youtube Channel that has several hosts. He seemed to like Michel Fisher the best. And, then there were a couple, but I don't recall their names off the top of my head.

My Danie, a bichon frise loves to watch tv. And she loves watching animals on tv. She would stay up late, lay in bed with her eyes glued on the tv.

@DWDavis I just thought that she's probably amazed to see all the wild animals.

I thought they were, too. It's amazing what you can learn choosing a random science program on TV.

Sophie will bark at the TV is she hears a doorbell or a dog bark in the program. Tonight is the first time she's shown real interest in what was happening on the show.

I thought we were going to say that K wanted to get some rabbits. I'm glad that's not the case.

K had her experience with rabbits when she was growing up on the farm. Her father bought her two allegedly male rabbits. One wasn't. When K told him there were baby bunnies in the hutch, he was doubtful until he saw them for himself. That was the end of pet bunnies on the farm.

@JudyEv I've read about and seen documentaries on how rabbits are an invasive species in Australia and have caused havoc in some areas. At one time, wasn't there a bounty on rabbits? Is there still?
