Saved by the Bell

It happened when I was a kid somewhere in New Mexico. Our family had a gas-powered refrigerator.
One night, the flame went out while we were sleeping. The house started filling up with gas. I was dreaming of flying through space, getting farther away every second.
My mom started yelling at me to wake up. I said no, I have a horrible headache. Someone carried me outside and dumped me on the lawn.
As I came back to reality, I learned that my mom was awakened by a phone call from no known person, a mysterious call with no one there. She said that she fell back asleep and the phone rang again. She figured out something was wrong and woke us all up.
If the phone did not ring so early, none of us would be here today. We were saved by the bell. I know it was for a purpose and worry that I might not do the one thing I was saved for. I wondered who the mysterious person or entity made the calls.
Has anything weird like that ever happened to you? I would love to hear about it.

Yes you would have all been a gonner if not for that call.
Now that was the Grace of God.
Yes a feral cat saved me from a life of imprisonment a long time ago.
I was defending myself and my son who was a small baby at the time.
I will only say that the cat came in from the street, down the stairs to lead me out of the dungeon.

@kaylachan I never thought of stuff like that when I was a kid. It could have been the end of all of us except for the mystery caller.

That's really something I would call miraculous. You were literally saved by the bell. I have had no similar experience.

How scary! I'm glad you were all saved by the phantom phone calls. I've never had anything like that happen.

That is beyond strange and so fortunate for your family. Nothing like that has happened for me, though I have been very lucky with health.
