As told in my previous Travel post, we got ready to go to the Nainital Zoo. We got to the ticket counter. There we waited for some time and then got the Shuttle to transport us to the zoo. We were tightly seated in the shuttle - 10 people in all plus driver. It was a narrow and very steep road. Hats off to the folks being able to drive on such paths. I shudder at the thought of reversing on such a steep slope !! We reached to a point close to the zoo. Adventure begins at the drop point. It is nearly some 60 to 70 steps only but very steep!! A big test for one's strength. Suddenly heavy rain started. We had to halt at a point. I took a few pictures. Sharing them here. It was getting colder as well. Almost 10 to 12 C and with chilly winds. Resuming Zoo journey ________________________ We halted for some time, resumed and reached the zoo gate. We saw a small museum there and took the tickets. We took the tickets and entered the zoo. Steep slope again !! And we then saw some Birds - Fowls and Pheasant birds. Then it was time to visit a great attraction - The Royal Bengal Tiger! I saw it first time in real. It was so huge and it was taking rest. However, heavy downpour started! We had to come back to a shelter but well, it was almost full and we had to sort of tightly adjust in it !! Heavy rains and well the water was wetting the insides of my shoes!! Well... challenges were in abundant... To be continued.......

I'm sorry it rained at the zoo. I'm sure you got a good workout with the steep grade.

@just4him Yes it was more than a workout after some time. Plus it had got a bit concerning as we had kids also with us.

@RebeccasFarm No I wasn't. It was in a double cage. Plus it seemed unconcerned about the people watching it.

I'm always amazed that the 'big cats' are quite so big. That's great that you saw a Bengal tiger.

Glad the bengal tiger was in a cage to protect others. They are gorgeous. Good you saw so many species of birds too.

@CarolDM Yes but we had more challenges especially with the cold and heavy rains further. I will share in my next post.
