They are painted red in memory of the blood of the Savior, shed by him for the sins of mankind. Painted eggs together with cakes are consecrated in temples during the festive divine service. Consecrated food becomes the first meal for believers during the communion after Lent. In many families, it is customary to eat consecrated eggs and cakes in the morning for all three days of Easter.

@JimBo452020 What else could it mean?) Ortodox Easter , it just so happened that Easter is celebrated on a different day than yours), other traditions, it just so happened)
